Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 14, 2026

1. Introduction

HiGeorge, Inc. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") runs higeorge.org (the "Service"), an AI-powered bookkeeping platform for US small businesses and freelancers. Since the Service connects with bank accounts and handles financial transaction data, we take this Privacy Policy seriously. It describes the data we collect, its uses, retention periods, and your rights.

The Company operates from 600 Congress Avenue, Suite 1400, Austin, TX 78701. Contact us at [email protected].

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account and Contact Information

Account registration requires your name, business name if provided, email address, and a hashed password. Messages sent through a contact form or by email include the name, email, and content you provide.

2.2 Financial and Transaction Data

AI-assisted bookkeeping is the heart of the HiGeorge service and requires read-only bank-account access. Through our bank-linking integration, your financial institution provides transaction records, including merchant names, dates, amounts, and descriptions, plus balances and account identifiers. We use this information only to categorize expenses, reconcile accounts, and create monthly profit-and-loss reports and year-end tax-ready exports.

We cannot transfer funds or write to your bank account, and we retain no bank login credentials. Your transaction data is not used to train AI models beyond your bookkeeping service. We do not sell transaction records or financial data.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

Visiting higeorge.org automatically provides us with limited technical details:

  • IP address and approximate city- or region-level location;
  • Browser, operating system, and device category;
  • Pages visited, referring URLs, page time;
  • Cookie and similar identifiers (Section 5).

2.4 We Do Not Knowingly Collect Children's Data

higeorge.org serves business owners and freelancers, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information. If you believe a child submitted information, email [email protected]; we will delete it.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Operate bookkeeping: categorize transactions, reconcile bank accounts, and produce financial reports and year-end exports;
  • Maintain your account and answer support requests;
  • Deliver service notices and product updates, plus optional tips for using HiGeorge more effectively;
  • Identify, examine, and stop fraudulent or unauthorized Service use;
  • Meet applicable US federal and Texas state legal requirements.

We do not sell personal information or financial data for monetary value. If state law classifies some advertising arrangements as a "sale" or "share," consult your state's section below.

4. Sharing of Information

We share personal data only with:

  • Cloud hosting and storage providers that run the Service and encrypt stored transaction data, subject to contractual confidentiality duties;
  • Our bank-linking provider, which enables read-only connections to your financial institution for you;
  • Email and notification providers that deliver account and service messages;
  • Authorities where law requires it or to safeguard the Company's or users' rights, safety, or property;
  • A successor in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell personal information or financial data to third parties.

5. Cookies and Tracking

Cookies and similar tools keep the site operating, maintain authenticated sessions, and measure product use. Details and choices appear in our Cookie Policy.

6. Data Retention

While your subscription remains active, we retain account information and financial transaction records. After account closure, your data remains for 90 days, giving you time to export records before deletion. Server access logs remain for 90 days before aggregation. Inactive marketing contacts, including users who never activated or unsubscribed, are purged after 24 months.

7. Security

Administrative, technical, and physical safeguards protect personal and financial information. They include 256-bit TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, read-only bank access that cannot transfer funds, and least-privilege controls. No system is entirely secure, so absolute protection from every threat cannot be promised.

8. Your General Rights

Depending on where you live, you may be able to access, correct, or delete personal information, or restrict certain processing. Send requests to [email protected]. We will reply within the period applicable law requires.

9. Texas Residents (TDPSA)

The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act ("TDPSA") gives Texas residents the rights below concerning personal data we control or process.

9.1 Your TDPSA Rights

  • Right to Confirm and Access: confirm whether we are processing your personal data and obtain access to it.
  • Right to Correct: correct inaccuracies in your personal data.
  • Right to Delete: request deletion of personal data we have collected from or about you.
  • Right to Data Portability: obtain a portable copy where we maintain it electronically and where technically feasible.
  • Right to Opt Out: opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, and profiling for decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. We do not engage in any of these activities.

9.2 Sensitive Data Consent

If we ever process sensitive data as defined under TDPSA (for example, precise geolocation, biometric, or health data), we will obtain your prior consent. The Service does not currently process such data. Financial transaction records you import are used solely to provide the bookkeeping service you signed up for, not for any secondary purpose requiring separate consent.

9.3 How to Exercise

Email [email protected]. We respond within 45 days; one 45-day extension is available with notice to you.

9.4 Appeal

If we deny your request you may appeal by replying to our response. If denied on appeal, contact the Office of the Texas Attorney General Consumer Protection Division.

10. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you may also exercise the rights granted under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") and California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"), including the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To submit a CCPA/CPRA request, email [email protected] with the subject line "California Privacy Request."

11. Changes to This Policy

This Policy may change periodically. We will show material changes with a new "Last updated" date and, when appropriate, a notice on the Service.
