Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2026
1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy describes how HiGeorge, Inc. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tools on higeorge.org, including the authenticated bookkeeping dashboard. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
In the United States, HiGeorge uses a notice-only approach: non-essential cookies, including anonymized usage analytics, turn on by default when you visit. You may opt out via the cookie banner or browser controls. US law does not require prior consent for this model.
2. What Are Cookies
Cookies are text files saved on your device during a website visit. They recognize your device between page loads, keep you signed in, save preferences, and show how small business owners use the product. Related tools, including browser local storage, retain banner-dismissal status.
3. How We Use Cookies
| Category | What it does on HiGeorge | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Maintains your signed-in bookkeeping session, saves CSRF protection tokens, and notes when you dismiss the cookie banner | Session to 12 months |
| Preferences | Saves dashboard settings you choose, such as the report date range used by default | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Anonymized data on page views, feature use, and navigation paths to improve the product for small business owners | Up to 13 months |
| Marketing | Currently unused | n/a |
4. Notice and Choice
Your continued use of the Service acknowledges the cookie practices described above. You may decline analytics cookies through the banner shown on your first visit or by setting your browser to block third-party cookies. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled without disrupting the authenticated session.
5. Universal Opt-Out Signals
Where applicable state law requires (including the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, California Consumer Privacy Act, and similar laws in Colorado, Connecticut, and Oregon), we honor browser-transmitted opt-out signals such as the Global Privacy Control ("GPC") for sale and targeted-advertising categories. When your browser sends a GPC signal, we do not initialize analytics on your session. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising regardless of GPC status.
6. Third-Party Cookies
Third-party providers may place cookies for us, such as an analytics provider tracking product use. Data-processing agreements restrict those providers to delivering our services. Advertising cookies from third parties are not allowed on higeorge.org.
7. Managing Cookies
- Opt out of analytics anytime in the cookie banner, or reopen it using the "Cookie preferences" footer link.
- Block or delete cookies in browser settings; see aboutcookies.org for help.
- Blocking strictly necessary cookies means you cannot remain signed in to your HiGeorge account.
8. Changes and Contact
We may revise this policy after changing our analytics vendor or cookie setup. The "Last updated" date above will show the revision.
